It all started with these Ikea Granas chairs. Then I wanted to paint the dinning room. After a couple of Home Depot runs, the color was decided. It’s Marina Isle from Behr. On a rare rainy Saturday here in southern California, I finished painting the dinning room.

For the left wall, I used four photos I took in Scotland at the Border Abbeys. The pre-cut mats that I bought didn’t fit. So next Saturday, I spent about an hour cutting the mats and then framing the photos. I used only about 2 inch gap between each photo because I wanted the four photos to act as parts of a bigger picture.

For the right wall, I used two small watercolor paintings I did. To keep with the same theme, these are painted from photos I took in Scotland as well.
There is also a tile board there that I have had for a few years now. I use that to note down whenever I am running low on ingredients; I can then very quickly write down my grocery shopping list off that.

Last weekend we went to pick up a darning foot for my sewing machine and it was close to lunch time. We popped into a rug store to kill a little time before grabbing a bite. Within a few minutes we found the perfect rug. I am glad we didn’t pick blue as the main color, but a rug that has a bit of the same blue in it as the wall color.
